The beauty industry is a lot like chicken. We all used to grab our chicken from the shelf of whatever local grocery store was closest. However, as the years went on and we became more educated about trends, many of us are doing deeper shopping. We want to buy from brands whose philosophy resonates with us and that’s why we are choosing more organic products, free-range chicken and regional produce where we can put a name and a face on the product.
What does this have to do with the beauty industry? Well, have you ever looked up the ingredients in a lipstick? I have and that is why I have become totally, 100% a follower of this incredible company. The company offers a wide line of beauty products, including lipsticks, fun eyeshadow palettes, highlighters and a variety of other beauty tools, and their company values are at the forefront of everything they do.
Lime Crime has been around since the early 2002’s, but recently their user-focused, social media surge has generated a cult-like following of people that are as loyal to the brand as the day is long. I must admit I am one of those followers.
Lime Crime prides itself on being a fully Vegan company, products use nothing that isn’t certified Vegan and it has been approved as cruelty-free by both PETA and the Leaping Bunny Program. That means that its products are incredibly rich and provide amazing, lasting color while not tested on a single animal. That fact is incredible! When I make a purchase, I want to know that my purchase has gone towards something I can feel proud to stand behind and that is what I’ve found with my new favorite cosmetics brand.
Founded by Doe Deere, a lover of bright colors and makeup that pushes the edge between trendy and rebellious, her passion for being animal-friendly stems down into every lipstick or palette that is created.
Although I must admit that the values of the company first attracted me to purchase the products, the reasonable prices and the value of the products has kept me coming back time and time again. The follower base of Lime Crime has bee called cult-like and, I must admit, I’m happy to join such a worthy cult of powerful makeup champions.
