Tesla Operations Could Soon Expand To China

As the technology of vehicles has changed over the years we have continued to move in the direction of electric cars. While driving them they give off no carbon emissions like a standard gasoline powered vehicle and if the electricity to charge it was produced renewable it carries next to no carbon footprint at all. One of the most notable electric car companies is the tech giant Tesla. They were the first company to mass produce an all electric car with a range similar to gasoline powered vehicles in their flagship Model S. The company is led by famed entrepreneur Elon Musk who is well known for his various other companies and theories such as Space X and the future colonization of Mars. Recently, the Tesla CEO has run into production issues because there is such a high demand for the all electric vehicles. To combat this issue, Musk is exploring the option of opening a manufacturing plant in China. It is estimated that the factory could be operational in as little as three years from now but Musk is famous for over promising on timelines so this time table must be taken with a grain of salt. The idea behind this is that he can lower the cost of manufacturing the three available models of Tesla’s so that he can then pass those savings on to the consumer and attract a larger portion of the population who may be convinced to make the switch to an all electric vehicle if the price tag were lower. This manufacturing facility in China would also allow Tesla to gain better and more direct access to Asian markets. Many countries in Asia have recently agreed to lower their carbon emissions to help combat climate change and technologies like the electric vehicles of Tesla are the perfect way to get this done. Governments have the option of providing tax rebates on electric vehicles to even further entice consumers to purchase electric vehicles. As electric car manufacturers like Tesla and many up and coming companies in the industry we will begin to see the price of electric vehicles fall and their quality rise. With more outlets to manufacture comes savings to the consumer that will ultimately lead to more purchases of electric cars and thus a greener future for future generations to enjoy.
