New App Can Help Parents Decide When It Is Time To Take Baby To The Hospital

It can be scary for parents to have a sick baby. Parents often struggle to decide when it is time for them to take their baby to the doctor. The name of the app is Lullaby Trust. It has 19 tests that will let the parents know if the baby needs medical attention.

It gives a score for every symptom that the baby has. The higher the score is, the more likely it is that the baby needs to see a doctor. The creators of Lullaby Trust warn parents that this app is just a guide. They stated that you should use your own judgment. If your gut instinct is telling you to take your baby to the doctor, then you should do that. A serious rash, injury and uncontrollable crying are signs that the baby needs to be seen by a doctor.

Russell Viner is a professor and the president of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He stated that having a sick baby can cause anxiety in parents. He hopes that this app will help put parents mind to ease. However, he stated that parents who are still worried should take their child to the doctor. He also stated that any illness will be easier to treat if it is caught early on.

The app will give the user a score. If the score is 7 or under, then it means that the baby is a little sick and probably does not need medical attention. A score that is above 8 means that the parent needs to get medical advice. If the score is 13 or above, then the baby needs to be taken to the doctor. A score of 20 or above means that the baby is extremely sick and needs to be taken to the doctor immediately.
