Rockstar Games has finally spilled the beans on the contents of its Special and Ultimate Editions of “Red Dead Redemption 2,” as well as the Collector’s Box of the game. Among the listed details, Rockstar reiterated that none of the additional content offered by the non-Standard Editions is crucial to enjoying the main game and its story.
According to forbes.com, every preorder of Red Dead Redemption 2 will give players the “War Horse” pet and “The Outlaw Survival Kit.” The war horse has superior speed and stamina when compared to the average horse within the game and the survival kit grants several items useful for recovering health lost from bandits, rival factions and animal encounters. Those who digitally preorder the game from either the PlayStation or Xbox Stores will get to begin their game with extra money to be used within story mode and those who make their purchase by July 31st will also receive a treasure map item. Furthermore, all digital preorders will credit the user with cash to spend on another of Rockstar’s major titles, “GTA Online;” Standard Edition preorders grant half a million dollars to the user’s GTA Online account, Special Edition preorders grant one million dollars and Ultimate Edition preorders grant two million dollars.
- Purchasers of the Special Edition will gain access to a unique train robbery heist and also a gang hideout, as well as a dappled black Thoroughbred, extra starting cash, discounts on in-game purchases, special items to use during story mode, extra weapons and the “Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger” costume. Rockstar’s official twitter mentioned that neither the bank robbery nor hideout were necessary to the game’s narrative.
- The Ultimate Edition grants the player everything included within the Special Edition, as well as several benefits for online play, such as new weapons, bonuses to online ranking, a survivor camp and a black chestnut Thoroughbred.
- The Collector’s Box includes a variety of physical goods, including a locking metal tithing box with key, a challenge coin, a two-faced puzzle, a bandana featuring revolvers, a treasure map, a set of pins, playing cards, cigarette cards and a catalog from a major general store within the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to launch on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles on October 26, 2018.
