UPDATED: The Vision of Omar Boraie for New Brunswick

UPDATED MAY 10, 2017 — Trust donates to Rutgers Cancer Institute

Omar Boraie was very happy when his favorite residential project in New Brunswick was about to complete. The location was called The Aspire which was the center of the city located on Somerset Street. He had a vision for New Brunswick which started four decades ago, and it is still continuing. At that time, Boraie was an Egyptian traveling scholar of chemistry who witnessed the original New Brunswick in Europe. His dream was to rebuild it in the same manner. Omar Boraie is currently the Patriarch and President of Boraie Development LLC.

According to him, no one could walk on the streets in the evening as there was no one left in the city. The situation was awful, but there was a motivation to do something about this area. He said that New Brunswick today is nothing like what it looked at that time. Today the building is his first large project in the town. There were twenty-one dilapidated and vacant buildings on the block. Boraie bought all of them one after another. After that, he went to the city to disclose his plan, but people said he was crazy. In fact, he was thinking ahead of time.

During the decades of the eighties and nineties, Albany Street Plaza Tower One was the first building which brought Class An office space to the city. In 2003, Tower Two was completed which was located next to Tower One. As the town was growing, Boraie realized that there was a strong need for high-flight residential units. A part of his vision became building a One Spring Street Condominium based on NYC style. As a result, New Brunswick’s largest building was constructed. The building had twenty-five stories, outdoor space for a walk your dog and barbecue, four-hundred space parking garage, ten-thousand square feet of retail, forty-thousand square feet office space, one-twenty-one residential units, and ten-thousand square feet of retail. The construction work was finished in 2007, and it took hardly two months to sell it out. The entire city was surprised that Omar Boraie constructed such a building in New Brunswick. After that, people started to believe in Omar Boraie.
