Dental Appliances Help People Sleep Better

In today’s economy, many young children are suffering due to poverty. They are not able to get the dental help they need. Children are having issues with their oral care because some of them can not afford toothbrushes and toothpaste. Parents that work hard and only earn minimum wage fight to keep a roof over the heads of their families. They may not have the funds they need to pay for food. Some of these children go to school hungry every day. Avi Weisfogel is working to help provide a fund that pays for these children to have their dental work done free of charge. He helps with providing surgical repairs on things like cleft palates, and some other facial deformities such as cleft lips. He also provides maintenance care such as dental cleanings. This is all done through operation smile organization and the volunteers that work with the organization.

Weisfogel is also very involved in getting the word out about sleep apnea. He is helping other dental professionals to learn what to look for and training them on how to treat issues they find. Sleep apnea can be a result of several different things. People that are overweight tend to have issues with sleep apnea. Some of these people find out when they go to the doctor for weight loss issues. Some of these people learn about sleep issues when they go to the dentist. Nasal congestion, enlarged tonsils, and diabetes are some of the issues that can cause a person to stop breathing during sleep.

Snoring is a good sign a person has sleep issues. This generally means their tongue is falling into the back of the mouth and covering the airways. Dental professionals are working alongside Avi to diagnose and treat these issues with mouth guards and TRD’s. TRDs are dental appliances that hold the tongue in place by suction. These guards are only a few of the options that dental professionals have to use to stop sleep apnea. Learn more about Avi and Sleep Apnea by going online. Are Your Ideas Protected?

Intellectual Property Law protects ideas. These ideas can be virtually anything: songs, books, business plans, logos, or scientific discoveries, just to name a few. The law recognizes these ideas as intellectual property and provides protection for their developers.

Any potentially profitable idea can be protected by Intellectual Property Law. Without ensuring maximum protection for your ideas, you risk losing ownership and any resulting profits. Intellectual Property Law can be summarized by four major Acts: the Copyright Act, Patent Act, Trade Marks Act, and the Designs Act.

Copyright Act
The Copyright Act covers literary, musical, and artistic works; films, sound recordings, broadcasts, and programme-carrying signals; published editions, and computer programs. Each of these creative works is subject to different regulations determining copyright eligibility, including specific requirements for the performance, recording, and broadcasting of the work.

Patent Act
New inventions that can be used or applied in trade, industry, or agriculture may be protected by the Patent Act. Protection is provided only to the priority application, and there are many factors in determining priority, including the date the application was lodged at the patent office.

Trade Marks Act
In order to be registrable, a trade mark has to distinguish the registrant’s goods or services from similar goods or services offered by someone else. It sounds simple, but there are many regulations regarding what may not register as a trade mark. Even after an application has been accepted and advertised, anyone can oppose the application for up to three months.

Designs Act
Registered designs can be either aesthetic or functional in nature, but must be new and original at the time of the application. Similar to trade marks, designs can also be opposed.

Protecting your intellectual property is as simple as hiring the right attorney. Frans Schoeman, Director at Phatsima Diamond on medium.com, describes the importance of both knowledge and experience in the field.

“Knowledge begins with study,” Schoeman explains, “but true understanding only comes with experience.”

Experience teaches the seasoned attorney the nuances of the law to afford clients the greatest protection of their unique ideas, he states.

When entrusting your Intellectual Property to an attorney, you want to find someone with proven expertise. You need a solution-oriented individual who has proven he knows how to take your idea and help you build it up with all the protection the law offers.

Schoeman describes the attorney as a partner, explaining that in the right hands, Intellectual Property Law can be used to turn your idea into a success story. If your idea is worth pursuing, it is worth protecting.

7 Things You Can Do to Fight Aging Naturally

It’s not the latest anti-aging pill, cream or procedure that will keep you looking and feeling young, but a lifetime of doing certain things. Just as frequent sun exposure ages the skin, avoiding the sun will help skin remain clear, smooth and youthful looking. This is why Kevin Seawright reads everything when it comes to health. These other 7 things will also help you fight aging naturally to keep your mind, body and spirit feeling younger than your chronological age.
* Get enough sleep. The mind and body rejuvenates itself during sleep and lack of sleep increases the risk of heart attack and stroke.
* Regular exercise increases muscles tone, strengthens bones, improves blood flow to internal organs and skin and helps keep weight within a normal range. Exercise also reduces stress and improves the mood.
* You are what you eat, so eat healthy to fight aging. A well-balanced diet helps strengthen the immune system and promotes overall good health.
* Use your brain so you don’t lose it. Provide your brain with regular stimulation by learning new things. This will help deter age-related memory loss.
* Spend time with family and friends to avoid feelings of loneliness. Join a club or group to make new friends and learn new things.
* Mediation helps to calm your mind and body, thus slowing down the aging process.
* Have hormonal levels checked. When hormones are out of balance, so is the rest of our body. Sleep and eating disorders, stress, memory loss and a weakened immune system can all be a result of unbalanced hormones and will speed up the aging process.
