02/27/2017 – UPDATE: Rick Shinto was joined with three other professionals who were added to the Innovacare team. Penelope Kokkinides was among these hires and has since proven to be an invaluable member of the Innovacare family.
Dr. Richard Shinto is now President and CEO of InnovaCare, Inc., but he began his medical career as a pulmonologist in Southern California. Since then his resume has grown quite impressive and includes the writing of many articles on clinical medicine and healthcare issues. Dr. Shinto earned his B.S. from the University of California, a medical degree from the University of New York, and received his M.B.A. from the University of Redlands.
Dr. Shinto is credited with being a force of change within InnovaCare Health and one of the reasons the company enjoys the success that it does today. He thinks it is likely that InnovaCare will expand into other markets and be able to make improvements that will ultimately benefit patients. Once he was hired as CEO in 2012 it did not take Dr. Shinto long to become known as a man who inspires people to give it their all. InnovaCare’s success since he began as their new CEO proves this is not a bad thing.
With InnovaCare making a visit to the Doctors office much more affordable to the average person, they have attracted a huge following. Now more Puerto Rican residents have access to better medical care than ever before mainly because the wise use of technology makes it possible to offer them cheaper options with absolutely no loss of quality or service. Over 70 percent of people have chosen InnovaCare over insurance companies for care plans they they can now afford.
Before taking the CEO position at InnovaCare Dr. Shinto was President and CEO of Aveta Inc., and it was during this time that he received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award. This award is given for excellence in the service category and recognizes entrepreneurs who show their commitment to success through innovative ideas, financial performance, plus the desire to help their communities. Dr. Shinto said “I’m honored to be the recipient of such a prestigious award,” which was a humble and fitting thing to say for the occasion, but he earned it.
Before being named as CEO of Aveta Inc., Dr. Shinto was Chief Medical Officer of NAMM in California and before that he was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer for Medical Pathways Management Company. Dr. Shinto has had a very busy career that led him to be CEO of InnovaCare. His experience, business savvy, and an honest desire to improve situations for others are three reasons InnovaCare can only continue to prosper and provide top medical care under his capable guidance.
